Metrics on Numeric Fields

These are examples of the basic Metrics that can be calculated from Numeric Fields:

A default-aggregation is configured in the Data-Schema for Numeric Fields. It can be either of TOTAL/AVERAGE. You can ask Questions like below to use the default-aggregation without explicitly specifying it:

Frequency Distribution of Numeric Fields:

Metrics on Text Fields

Getting the unique number of values of a Text/Geo-Location Field:

NOTE: The COUNT is an approximate estimate while EXACT COUNT gives an accurate value. But, when there are too many unique values for a Field, avoid using EXACT COUNT as it can take a lot of time to evaluate the result.

Listing values of Text/Geo-Location Fields and some Date Dimensions:

Sorted Metrics

You can use TOP or BOTTOM to get a sorted/ranked list of values:

You can use LATEST or EARLIEST to get the most recent or the oldest value of a Numeric Field:

Functions and Expressions

You can use Functions like SUM(SALES) or PRODUCT(SALES, PROFIT) in your Questions. See Using Functions for more details.

You can use mathematical Expressions like 25 * (SUM(SALES) + AVG(SALES)) in your Questions. See Using the Expression Builder for more details.

Multiple Metrics

You can ask for multiple Metrics together by using Commas in between:

Please note that you cannot use Commas with FREQUENCY and TOP/BOTTOM Metrics.
